Interrupt-Driven

AmaroK allows you to set a custom image for an album (useful if the amazon based cover fetcher doesn’t return a result). So far i didn’t use this feature much because it was too awkward. You had to download the picture, tell AmaroK to use it and afterwards delete it. As a matter of fact it is way more simple. Just cut and paste the URL of the picture you want to use into the selector dialog. AmaroK will download it itself. KDE rules!

Amarok hat ein Feature das sich "Smart Playlists" nennt. Damit kann man eine Playlist automatisch nach bestimmten Kriterien füllen lassen. Vordefiniert sind zum Beispiel "Most played", "Never played", "Genre" und "50 random tracks". An "50 random tracks" hat mich bisher immer gestört, dass man 50 Tracks über alle Genres hinweg erhält. Insgesamt war mir nicht so ganz klar geworden, was den "Smart" an diesen paar Listen ist. Dementsprechend habe ich dieses Feature auch nie verwendet. Mittlerweile ist auch mir aufgegangen, dass die vordefinierten Playlists nur Beispiele sind und dass man eigene Playlists mit selbstdefinierten Kriterien anlegen kann (nicht ohne mich vorher auf amarok-dev zur Sau zu mache…). Die selbstdefinierten Playlists ermöglichen die Verknüpfung von Einzelkriterien zu komplexen Anfragen (Bsp. "100 Tracks" aus dem Genre "House" und "Electro" die im Jahr 2001 erschienen sind und die bisher am wenigsten gehört wurden. Was kann man da noch sagen außer "Amarok - Rediscover Your Music!"
