Ebay pulse

Ebay has a new feature. It’s called pulse. Ebay pulse is somewhat likeGoogles Zeitgeist. It lists amongst other things the ten most popular searches at this particular time.

A look at this list is however a little bit disappointing. It seems most people still can’t use a search service or don’t know when’s the right time to use one. Another possibility not to far fetched is that people are just plain stupid.

Cray-Cyber.org is an organisation which restores and runs old super computers. They have several Cray-, CDC-Cyber and NEC computers plus all kinds of nifty peripherals.

At Nov. 27th they are having their yearly tours day (Link ). Cray-Cyber is located in Munich, so i ponder if i should drop by.
Anyone wants to come along?

A new love

I’ve got a new feed reader of choice! After spliting with AmphetaDesk for being just too outdated i’ve searched
quite a while for a decent substitute. The latest reader i’ve tried so far is Bloglines. Unlike AmphetaDesk, Bloglines isn’t a program but a webbased service.

Bloglines provides you with a web directory of the feeds you’ve subscribed. Besides this basic functionality it has some interesting features. You can do clippings, which means you can export feed entries you’ve read as a new rss feed. This way you can provide friends with stuff you found worthwhile. Another feature i’ve found interesting
allows you to find feeds which are related to a feed you’ve alreay subscribed. Feed galore!

I’ve used bloglines now for a week and it seems that my quest for a new feed reader has come to an end. If your in need of a good feed reader you should give it a try.

Back online

After relocating to Esslingen i’m back online. Actually i’ve got internet again since two weeks but i’ve been to busy to blog anything.

Right now my connectivity is only by analog modem. So i kind of can finaly understand what this digital divide is all about…

I’ve tried to sign up for dsl but had no success so far. They keep telling me that dsl is in principal available in my neighborhood but that my hookup is kind off fucked. Off course they didn’t said fucked instead they babbled about serious problems. They can’t even tell me when this problem will be fixed. But after living offline for nearly two month i’m thankful for what i got (at least i try to). *g*
